The Cloth Book -
Satkar Fabric Collection
We stock one of London’s finest selections of Italian and British suiting cloth – the same mills that supply the great houses of Savile Row. Loro Piana. Scabal. Vitale Barberis Canonico. Holland & Sherry. Every metre cut for one client only. Touch the cloth before you decide.
Our Philosophy · The Cloth · London
The cloth makes,
the suit
At Satkar Tailors on Door, we made the decision early to stock only the world’s finest mills. Not because it makes our commissions simpler – it does not. But because every client who walks into our atelier deserves the same cloth as their counterpart on Savile Row, and deserves to pay a London atelier price for it rather than a Savile Row premium.

Brussels, Belgium · Est. 1938
Scabal
Belgian craftsmanship since 1938. Scabal’s cashmere and cashmere-wool blends offer a softness that must be touched to be believed. Their fine worsted wools are exceptional for London business suits – quality of handle, depth of colour and durability unmatched in their tier.

Loro Piana · Quarona, Italy · Est. 1924
The gold standard,
of suiting cloth
Since 1924, Loro Piana has produced cloth of a standard no other mill has equalled. Their Super 150s–180s wools are made from Merino fleeces so fine they are measured in microns. The result is a cloth of incomparable softness, natural crease-resistance and extraordinary drape. A Loro Piana suit holds its shape through a transatlantic flight, a full working day and a dinner in the evening.
Our most recommended cloth for London professionals. Available in Super 150s (business), Super 160s–180s (weddings and formal), Tasmanian (Indo-Western and bandhgala) and Wish Wool (premium winter commissions).
Scabal · Brussels, Belgium · Est. 1938
Cashmere & fine cloth,
at its finest
Scabal was founded in Brussels in 1938 with a single mission: to produce the world’s most exclusive cloth. Their pure cashmere and cashmere-wool blends are our recommendation for every autumn and winter commission in London – the warmth-to-weight ratio is unmatched, and the handle is unlike anything produced elsewhere.
Scabal’s fine worsted wools are exceptional for London business suits – the quality of handle, depth of colour and durability place them in the very top tier of suiting cloth. Their silk and wool blends are also available for ceremonial and wedding commissions.
